For the past two years, Jasna has been a dedicated supporter of JZips, driven by a deep sense of purpose and a personal connection that has touched her heart. Her journey with JZips began when her brother became a recipient of their support during his chemotherapy treatment.
“The T-shirt drive is important to me because the JZips shirts significantly eased my brother’s chemotherapy experience,” Jasna words reflecting the love and care she felt for her sibling. “They inspired and motivated me to support other children and young adults facing similar challenges.”
Jasna decided to take action, and she did so in a way that involved her entire school community. She initiated T-shirt drives across her elementary, middle, and high schools, passionately collecting over 200 new T-shirts for JZips. Her dedication resonated not only with her peers but also with teachers, parents, and students of all ages.
The T-shirt drive transcended age boundaries, allowing students of varying ages to get involved. Parents had the opportunity to discuss with their kids the importance of giving to others and fostering a sense of community. It became a collective effort that instilled valuable lessons about empathy, compassion, and the power of making a positive impact in the lives of others.
Each T-shirt collected represented a gesture of kindness and a piece of comfort that would be shared with other children battling cancer. Jasna’s efforts not only honor her brother’s who is now in remission, but also fostered a school district a sense of togetherness that reached across generations.
Through her actions, Jasna exemplified the spirit of compassion and empathy that defines the JZips community. She showed that even the smallest gestures of support, fueled by personal experiences, can have a profound impact on the lives of others.
