In September 2023, Hollywood, Florida witnessed a heartwarming celebration as Matthew marked his 13th birthday with a special project that exemplified the values of compassion and community. For this significant milestone, he chose to partner with JZips, an organization that deeply resonated with his values. “I read about Jordan’s story and admired his courage, determination, entrepreneurial spirit, and kind heart,” Matthew explained.
Matthew’s dedication, along with the generosity of his family and friends, resulted in an impressive collection of support. In total, he gathered over $500 in donations and 21 shirts. But Matthew’s commitment didn’t stop there. Fueled by his own gifts received on his 13th birthday, he decided to purchase even more shirts, eventually accumulating a grand total of 50 shirts.
The t-shirts that Matthew collected were sent to JZips, where they underwent a transformation, receiving their signature zippers. With the introduction Matthew facilitated at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, JZips shirts were sent back to Matthew, who personally hand-delivered them to the pediatric patients. This heartwarming exchange of compassion and care brought smiles and comfort to those in need.
